Singapore Teddy Bear Gathering on 22 August 2014

We had a wonderful evening with 10 Singapore Teddy Bear lovers last Friday! It's the first time having so many enthusiastic joining us. We would like to extend our warmest welcome to 2 new enthusiasts, Val Ho and Chio, for joining us for this gathering.

First of, we had a scrumptious dinner at Watami in Junction 8. Everyone was hungry and tucked into their food!

After dinner, we looked around for a place to chill and display or bears. However with such a big group, it was difficult to find a comfortable place to accommodate all of us. As Evelyn lives nearby, she offered her house for the after-dinner gathering. We would like to thank Eveyln for hosting us last night.

Everyone started to take out their Teddy Bears and Dolls for everyone else to see. We placed them on the dining table nicely before taking a group picture together.

Philip finally finished his Panda and had a photo taken with 3 lovely ladies.

As Evelyn's house was very cosy, everyone started to chat and drink the fruit juices which were bought. We also had a small discussion on our next Christmas Gathering event.

We will be having a Christmas Teddy Bear Exchange! Everyone will be making a teddy bear from same bear pattern for the exchange. Everyone were very excited about the idea though some who started bear making recently appeared to be a little worried! Nevertheless, everyone agreed to make one.

Before we knew it, it was already 11pm at night! We all quickly took our leave before the public transport stopped their operations.

Thank you Esther, Evelyn, Su Ling, Ivy, Philip, Marcia, Paula, Val and Chio for joining us in the gathering! Till we meet again this Christmas!!! :)

Baby Panda, Xiao Mi now available for adoption!

Good day everyone! We are pleased to share another creation today for adoption!

This cute little panda is named Xiao Mi. He is approximately 7.5 inches tall.
Made from soft black and white alpaca, he is filled with polyfill and crush garnets, giving him a squishy feel whenever you squeeze him!

The crushed garnets also gives him a hefty weight.

His face is needle sculpted, shaded and trimmed, giving him the signature Wayneston Bears look and feel.

The paws and footpads are needle sculpted as well, while colour shadings were done to create a realistic feel to the overall appearance.

Xiao Mi wears a handmade necklace made by me. His nose is embroidered, waxed and then polished to give a shiny look.

Xiao Mi is now available for adoption on:

We hope you like our new creation today! Have a great weekend :)

Wayneston Bears Review: Singapore Teddy Bear Show 2013 in Australian Bear Creations Magazine Vol 18 No.6

We are really excited to share our very first Teddy Bear Show review on a magazine! Never in our wildest imagination did we think that we would become writers! All this was made possible thanks to Ms Susan Leigh and we would like to thank her for giving us this rare opportunity.

Thank you Australian Bear Creations also, for sharing this wonderful article with the world. :)

I believe this article was published a few month back but I am only able to share with you now as I just received my copy yesterday.

Nevertheless, it's never too late to share this article with all of you!

Hope you enjoy reading the article about our Local Teddy Bear Show.

Hugs,
Wayne.

Make a Panda Workshop - Part 2, 27 July 2014

On a very fine Sunday, 27th July, 4 baby pandas were born!

L-R: Panda made by Chio, Evelyn, Paula, Wayne and Su Ling.
Paula, Evelyn, Su Ling and Chio looked very excited as they carefully gave their pandas the final touches.

Wayne shared his special technique to create intricate needle sculpted paw & foot pads, making them look more realistic.
Paula's first attempt to create a needle sculpted feet.

Without much procrastination, the students picked up their needles and started to do it themselves! It was a very good attempt for their first try!

Enjoying the process of bear making

After the paws and feet were done, they proceeded to joint and stuff their pandas. With their past experience in Bear Making, they were able to close the seams effortlessly. After attaching the ears and a cute little tail to their pandas. They used a sharp pair of scissors to trim the fur on the face.

Serious learners

Feeling happy to see them coming alive!

For the grand finale, everyone had to wax and polish their panda’s nose and TATA! They have finally completed their pandas! With a bell attached around the neck as an accessory, their pandas were all finished and ready to be shown to the world!

Adding colours to enhance the footpads
We would like to thank Paula, Evelyn, Su Ling and Chio for the wonderful time spent together during the workshop. It was fun and we enjoyed sharing the process of bear making with all of you.
