2 latest bears, Mikhail and Winston Blue
Sharing today are 2 of our latest bears, Mikhail and Winston Blue.
Mikhail is made from a pattern designed by Joanne Livingston.
Mikhail is also one of Wayne's favourite bear which he has ever created. He found a new mum in April at Susan Quinlan Doll & Teddy Bear Convention.
This is Winston Blue, another handsome bear which I have created from soft synthetic fur. He has also found a new mum last month.
We hope you like our new creations and wishing everyone a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Wayne

Make a Bear Workshop 10 & 24 September 2017
Wayneston Studios is pleased to have 3 students attending the Make-a-Bear Workshop held on 10 & 24 September.

L-R: Doreen, Gladys and Yvonne |
It is the first time for the students namely, Doreen, Gladys and Yvonne, making a Teddy Bear.
Wayne was happy to know that the 3 students were able to perform hand sewing and very quickly, they managed to stitch the bear parts without assistance.
Wayne shared with them the way to make a secure gathering stitch at the base of the head. The students later tried, for the first time, in turning a T-pin after inserting washers and discs into the head and neck.
After their bear heads were fully stuffed, they proceeded to embroider the nose for their bears. They all done a great job keeping the stitches neat!
In the 2nd class, they learned how to joint and stuff the bear.
Wayne was also delighted to receive a handmade doll made by Doreen!
She is now waiting for Wayne to make a pink bear to swap in return! This swap has made both of us very excited.

Make-a-Bear Workshop 2 & 9 April 2017
We are so proud to see three little bears born on 9 April, each individually handcrafted by three apprentices namely, Michelle, Amanda and Anna.
L-R: Bears made by Wayne, Amanda, Michelle and Anna |
It was the first time all three of them learned to make a bear.
The 3 students were very patient and listen attentively to Wayne's instruction. Wayne demonstrated how to perform a nose embroidery on the bear and soon they started sewing themselves. Anna was adventurous and decided to stitch a heart-shape nose for her bear! It wasn't an easy attempt; she started some stitches and Wayne assisted to complete the nose later on.
Happy Bear Making Day with the ladies |
The most challenging process which the students faced were sewing the ears onto their bear's head. The ears need to be visually balanced and symmetrical. Wayne pinned the ears on the bear's head and demonstrated how to sew the ear with ladder stitching technique.
Amanda is closing the bear after stuffing |
Anna is stitching the arms of her bear (Bruce) |
Michelle is patiently sewing, keeping her stitches neat and tight |
After their bears were completed, the students used markers to gave their bears some light shadings to enhance the overall appearance and accessorise them with ribbons.

We even took an outdoor group photo together with our prized ones!
Thank you Michelle, Amanda and Anna for joining our bear workshop. We hope you enjoyed the workshop and look forward to seeing you make more bears next time!
Hugs,
Wayne
