2 new squirrels, Jovan & Jonas!

We are pleased to introduce 2 new squirrels this week!

Yes, we know that it has been a while since we last made a squirrel and many of you have been asking when are we going to make one again.

So... here's 2 of them ready for you to choose and bring home!
Jovan and Jonas are siblings, they are made from the same pattern. Jovan is made from Grey and white mohair whereas Jonas is made from Reddish Brown and white mohair. Jovan has a slight longer fur than Jonas.

Both have a darker colour tone airbrushed onto their bodies and tail. They have our signature needle sculpted paw and foot pads made from ultra-suede. Their tail has wire armature too which you can bend and pose them to your preference.

Acorn an Easter Squirrel

I have always wonder why only Bunnies and Chicks are associated in celebration of the Easter? Why can't it be a bear or squirrel? LOL...

Acorn here is my latest squirrel, she is made from soft long sparse orangish mohair and white mohair. She even has a yellow flower sewn on her head :) An Easter Egg comes along with her as well.
If you would like to adopt or view more pictures of her, please visit my website.

MaryAnn the Pink Santa's Helper

Introducing my latest Squirrel ~ MaryAnn, the Pink Santa's Helper

She is created using the same pattern as my Award Winning Design (Herbie the Squirrel) and I am very pleased with her. In the past, I have been very conservative with my squirrel designs - Earthy colours are what I been making, but now you see a pink squirrel! I am so in love with her! ^.^

Pastels have always been my favourite colours, to be flank pink is one of them! I am looking forward to create more brightly coloured squirrels and animals in the next projects next year =)

Back to MaryAnn, she is 6.5" tall standing, has a wired tail and a pair of memorising eyes with needle felted eyelids too! She is now available on a 7 days Ebay Auction, do visit her and say Hi to her =)

New squirrel Herbie ^.^

I have a new squirrel this week to share with everyone! He is so soft and cute, I really love him a lot and enjoy making him ^.^

I am getting more and more attached to making squirrels nowadays, squirrel has always been one of my "dream pet", I do hope to have a squirrel or maybe a sugar glider pet if there is a chance. Anyway, right now I am still happy with my 3 little hamsters =)

Herbie, here is my latest creation. I really really love his eyes, I guess I am getting better with needle felting now, each time I do, I can feel my improvements. Practise makes perfect! You may view more pictures of him here on my website: http://www.wix.com/waynelim/waynestonbears/herbie

Hope you enjoy your weekend! See you in August =)

WIP not MIA

Hi friends, I know that I have not been actively updating my blog lately :x
Just to let you know that I am still working with my bears but... at a slower pace. This is due to my job change and time management adjustment. I have now some new sidelines to commit hence bear making time will be reduced.

This week I am working on a squirrel, here are some pictures of him. I am crossing my fingers that he could be completed tomorrow. What is missing with him is the whiskers, waxed nose polishing and colour shadings, lastly I have to arrange a photography appointment with him. LOL

Before the Daddy gave me eyelids

Look at my eyes! =D
I have been kinda addicted to needle felting lately. It's tiring but fun... I poked my fingers a few times, I can tell that it's definitely more painful than needle pokes... :x
Here are some of the items that I have felted 2 weeks ago.

Yes.. Just Balls

Guess what am I doing?
I have used some of these felted objects to accessorise my bears for "Bear on Parade" show, which will be held next week (July 15-17). I hope you could give us some of your support, do come and visit us ok? :)

I hope you have a lovely & blessed weekend.

New squirrel named Maple

This week a new squirrel named Maple is born! She is made with topaz coloured mohair, sized 6" tall. Here are some of her pictures. She is now available on Bear Pile.

Few weeks ago, I have been working on the design for my sewn on labels. I have always wanted to give my bears an identity; they are my creations and I am proud of them, they deserved my branding and recognition. I have been searching for a supplier that can make sewn on labels and tags, however most of them has a minimum quantity (500pcs +).

I am not a full time artist and I don't sewn many bears, this has disturbed me for a while. Thanks to my bear friends Becky and Deborah, who have recommended me to a lady who customise labels.

Not long ago I have received them, I am proud to show them to everyone =)
These labels are made of suede material, all you need to provide is the artwork and the size you want for the labels. Many thanks to Angie (Rememberwynn) for making me such beautiful labels, I am now more motivated to make more bears and critters =) If you are interested to make labels and tags for your items, you can visit her online shop here.

Above are some images of my labels and tags. Maple is the first critter that has a label sewn on her back!
Thanks for viewing my blog, I wish everyone a wonderful weekend!
