Polar Bear Workshop at Poi Ching School, 3 September 2018

Wayneston Studios is pleased to be invited once again to Poi Ching School to conduct another bear workshop.

This time we have 18 students accompanied with their parents. Some of the students have made a softie bear in our previous workshop and is back again to learn to make a polar bear. The students told me they have enjoyed the last workshop, this really makes our day.

The workshop took about 3 hours, with a short break in between.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Poi Ching School for the opportunity for us to share our knowledge with the children again and the helpful Parents Support Group for assisting in the workshop.

We hope to be back again in the near future to share more Teddy Bear Making knowledge with them.

Hugs,
Wayneston Studios & Team.

Bear Making Workshop with Knotty Bicsie!

We are pleased to welcome Betsy and Edda from Knotty Bicsie to Wayneston Studios.

Betsy is a crochet artist and owner of Knotty Bicsie. She is an art instructor and has been teaching for more than 10 years. We have known each other from our common students whom have attended our classes.

We are happy to share our knowledge with Betsy and her daughter Edda on making a Teddy Bear. This is the first time for both of them to try something new. Edda who is 8 years old, learns to stuff and sew an Inuka Polar Bear.

Sewing is not new to Betsy, she is able to master hand sewing quickly. Wayne shared with her the jointing method on her Teddy Bear's limbs and how to make a wobble head.

Betsy is able to complete her Travelling Teddy Bear in one day and Edda completed her Polar Bear and named him Ice Bear.

We want to thank you Betsy and Edda for supporting our workshop and we congratulate them for completing their first Teddy Bear.

P.S Wayneston Studios will be collaborating with Knotty Bicsie to conduct a workshop at their venue, Marinate on 28 July. Stay tuned for more information!

Hugs,
Wayne

Snow Bun the baby polar is now available for adoption!

Here comes Snow Bun the polar cub!

He is 7.5 inches tall, made from beautiful soft German Alpaca.

Snow Bun has an adorable face and chubby tummy! He is stuff with soft poly-fiber with crushed garnets to give him some weight.

I have also specially learn to crochet to create a handmade scarf for him.

Like the other signature Wayneston Bears creations, he has needle sculpted paws and foot pads.

Snow Bun also a hand sculpted polymer clay nose, painted and sealed.
He has a pair of upper eyelids to make him look sleepy.

All creations come from a smoke-free home and will be nicely wrapped and packed into a box.

Snow Bun has now been adopted...Thanks

You can view other available bears and critters for adoption on our website:

Boey the Polar Cub

We are proud to present to you today one of our latest creation, Boey the Polar Cub.

Boey is 8.5 inches tall, made from soft long mohair.
Boey is designed with a open mouth. His mouth has inbuilt wire armature, enabling him to open and close his mouth. He is one of our very few bears with an open / close mouth feature. The teeth and claws are hand sculpted without any mould.

Boey also has many other interesting features. Being 5 way jointed with wire armatures on the limbs and spine allows him to pose in many ways. Like all other Wayneston Bear creations, he has the signature needle sculpted fingers and toes on the palms and feet.

With leather eyelids, Boey exudes the sleepy look. His nose is needle felted and later painted, then sealed. Boey is One-of-a-Kind, completely hand-made with love and care.

If you would like to adopt Boey today, do visit him at ABI:

We hope you will like our new polar and have a great weekend!

Lavigne & Polar, Blitz

My niece visits our house yesterday. I showed my latest polar to her and she snatched him away from me wanting to give him a hug!

Blitz got lucky, receiving a big hug from our little princess. Look at how tall she has grown.
Lavigne has grown to like teddy bears, maybe one day she will be interested to learn how to make one too. I look forward to that day.

Hope you like some of her pictures here.

Hugs, Wayne

Presenting to you today, my latest new polar bear, Blitz!

Blitz has now been adopted...Thanks

Presenting to you today my latest and new creation........Blitz the Polar Bear!

Blitz is my first realistic inspired Polar Bear I have ever created; countless hours have been spent to create him.

I looked at real life images of polar bears from the internet and experimented with the body proportions, hence achieving a design which I am very pleased with.

Blitz has an open mouth design with needle sculpted gums, tongue and even has a set of teeth made from Fimo clay.

I had lots of fun and "pain" while making the leather paw pads on his feet. The paw pads easily took me more than 10 hours  to complete them! It's my first attempt applying appliqué techniques to achieve them. Black claws were also installed onto the feet in order to create a more realistic feel and enhance the overall image of the Blitz.

Blitz is on fours. You can pose him sitting down on hind legs.

I would love to hear your comments on my latest creation. Hope to hear from all of you soon!

Hugs,
Wayne
