I happened to come across the Nescafe Dolce Guston Facebook page two days ago, and saw this Facebook Design Competition.
It's a simple competition. All you have to do is to create a graphic design on a coffee machine's side profile.
Above is my design titled: Pandas can be Colourful.
Inspiration: Pandas are
beautiful animals even though they are just black and white (Monochrome
colours). Their docile behavior are well-liked by all and it's the
animal which most of us can relate to Asians.
If you like my design and will like to vote for me, please visit this link.
Thank you for your support. We hope to win this and fly to Tokyo.......one of our dream destination. =)

On Friday night, I organized a Teddy Bear Gathering and was pleased to see such a big turnout!
Most of the attendees are from the Singapore Teddy Bear Lovers Facebook Group, which was created by me a year ago. This is the first time so many people came as in the past, it was normally just Esther, Irene and myself.
I have always been actively looking for people who are keen in bear making to join us.
To make this happen, I took the initiative to call some of my students to join the "lonely" 3 of us for this gathering.
One of the highlights of the event was that we had a very special guest all the way from Russia........
Anna Filatova! Anna is a bear artist who is currently residing in Singapore. She makes beautiful traditional vintage style bears. Her appearance made us all very excited as this is the first time we have an overseas bear artist joining us in the gathering.
We enjoyed our Japanese dinner at Ramen Champion and decided to settle down at the spacious McDonald's to "show off" our bears!
There
was certainly an impressive number of bears on the table and this
caught the attention of passersby who were simply blown away by the
display. Ha ha...... I bet they must have been wondering what on earth we were doing!
Our large collection is more than enough to fill up a show table!
After
the gathering, Anna, Esther, Philip and I walked to the National Museum
as well as the Art Museum to enjoy the Night Festival.
All of us certainly enjoyed our evening together and I am sure everyone of us are looking forward to the next one soon.
I would also like to thank my best friend Philip, for taking these beautiful pictures for us all.
Currently,
there are about 20 people in the Singapore Teddy Bear Lovers Group. I hope to
gather more bear/doll lovers & artists and have an even bigger
gathering next time.
If you are a Teddy Bear Enthusiast/Artist/Collector would like to join us for future gatherings, do join the Facebook group here. *Please note that this group is meant for people who reside in Singapore Only.
The more the merrier!
Here's a short video to share our happy moments with you ^.^
We have a new mouse, Bailey available for adoption today!
Bailey is 6" tall, made from soft white mohair. Horsetail whiskers are sewn onto his delicate cheeks. He filled with crush garnets and polyfibre and will fit nicely onto your palms ^.^
Bailey has a wire armature tail too which allows him to strike different poses to you liking,
It has been a while since you have last heard from me.
I must apologize for not updating my blog for my readers for the past 1 week!
It couldn't be helped as I was away for my National Service, an obligation that every Singaporean male has to do.
This
time, I was called back for 8 days. It wasn't as tough as expected. In
fact, it was very relaxing and helped me to relieve stress from the
daily pressures of a working lifestyle. ^.^
Also,
I would like to share a piece of great news with all my readers......
My bunk mates and I achieved Marksman during our Rifle Shoot Range and
will be receiving $200 each as a reward! =)
I
really enjoy going back to camp because I get to know so many friends
working in different fields. It is a great opportunity for me to network
and share our experiences. I learnt so much from them.
To
make myself more productive during my stay in camp, I bought along my
sewing kit with patterns to sew while the rest are resting in the bunks
during free time. It was very good as I rarely have so much quiet time
alone to get many things done. As a result, I now have 2 new creations
which are almost completed :)
On
my work desk this week, I have a polar bear on fours and a new white
mouse. I am hoping to complete them and share with everyone by this
week.
Thank
you for popping by to view my blog today. Come back again later this
week to see our new creations and get ready to adopt them!
Wayneston Bears was recently featured in an article on New Zealand Teds (August/September issue). This is the first time that we are featured in a New Zealand Magazine and we would like to thank the editors Hazel and Pam for this opportunity.
We are pleased to share the article and hope that you would enjoy reading it!
A teddy bear named Fozzy made by Shanna (The Little Leaf) has arrived last week.
I think he is the cutest bear I have in my collection. He is small and soft, he even has little trapunto paw and foot pads made from felt. I am very impressed with Shanna's craftmanship, her work is definitely worth to add into your bear collection.
I have always wanted to learn how to make trapunto paws and foot pads and I thought it never going to happen. After looking at Shanna's bear, I am inspired to try this technique soon on a bear.
Nibbles a mouse swapped for Fozzy
Thank you Shanna, for the lovely swap bear, I will treasure him. For our exchange, I sent her my latest mouse, Nibbles. I am glad to hear she loves him too.
You can read more about our swap on her blog here.
