Wayneston Studios had 4 students sign up for the Lemon Butter Workshop in March.
The students were, Violet Yeo, Violet Lim, Wei Tang and Hui Xin.
This was the first time Violet and Hui Xin made a Teddy Bear. Wei Tang told us that he learnt how to make bears many years ago and he has returned to making them again. It has totally revived his passion for bear making!
Wayne shared with them the importance of observing and identifying the pile and fur direction before cutting and sewing. He also instructed them on basic stitching techniques to hold 2 pieces of mohair together as well as the way to close the seam opening after stuffing and weighting the bear.
As a bonus, they learnt how to sew a simple felt vest for their bears.
At the end of the class, all of them proudly took a photo with Wayne and gave their bears a name.
We would like to thank the students for their interest and participation in the class which made it such a success.
We look forward to meeting Violet Yeo, Violet Lim, Wei Tang and Hui Xin again in the near future.
